Kathleen Okonowicz
Kathleen Burgoon Okonowicz, a watercolor artist and illustrator, is originally from Greenbelt, Maryland, and is an artist member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society.
Kathleen enjoys taking things of the past and preserving them in her paintings. Her print, Special Places, features the stately stairway in Wilmington, Delaware, that was the special place of the characters in Eds love story, Stairway over the Brandywine. In the fall of 1999, she released Station No. 5, a print that captures the charm of a 1893 Victorian-style firehouse also in Wilmington, near Trolley Square.
In 2002, in conjunction with an exhibition at the Delaware Agricultural Village and Museum, she released her third printThe Broom Manfeaturing William Hammond III of Felton, Del. This Delmarva craftsman is well known throughout the region and appears with his broom making machine at fairs and events throughout the year.
A graduate of Salisbury State University, Kathleen earned her master's degree in professional writing from Towson State University. In addition to painting, she teaches a self-publishing course at the University of Delaware.
As the owners of Myst and Lace Publishers Inc., Kathleen is responsible for art, photography, layout and design, while Ed conducts the interviews and writes the stories.
